Alonso: Spain WCup win more likely than F1 victory

Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso hopes to win the British Grand Prix, yet he's predicting his country has a better chance in the World Cup final.

Alonso qualified in third for the race at Silverstone, which takes place Sunday before Spain plays the Netherlands in the World Cup final.

After finishing eighth at the European Grand Prix two weeks ago, Alonso believes Spain has a better chance in soccer. The European champion reached the World Cup final for the first time.

The Ferrari driver is urging the team ''to capitalize on this opportunity, just in case we have to wait another 40 or 50 years to get here again.''
