ST. LOUIS (AP) Colorado right-hander Kyle Kendrick left Friday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals after one inning due to right shoulder inflammation.

Kendrick, who came in 4-11 with a 6.37 ERA, gave up a leadoff home run to Matt Carpenter and trailed 2-0 after one inning.

Kendrick has allowed a major league-high 26 home runs this season. He has given up 14 runs in his last three starts covering 10 1/3 innings.

Left-hander Aaron Laffey replaced Kendrick on the mound.
