Red Sox accept being non-contenders?

After a clean three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics, the Boston Red Sox were looking like contenders, ready to turn the season around after a rough start.

Now, with the Sox being swept by the Baltimore Orioles, it seems as though the team is dragging a bit.

The Sox are sitting at 27-34 after 61 games and are seven games back of the first-place New York Yankees. With the trade deadline quickly approaching, they could become sellers for back-to-back seasons.
