Puig uses baby to rip All-Star vote?

Published Jul. 14, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

In his brief but amazing career, the Dodgers' Yasiel Puig has earned a reputation as a hitter, as a hard-nosed player, as arrogant by opponents, and aloof with the media. But apparently that doesn't extend to social media.

Check out what was posted to the phenom's Twitter account on Sunday night:

If you remember, Freeman, the Braves' first baseman, was selected by the fans over Puig to the NL All-Star team as part of the Final Vote, to the pleasure of some players. Freeman was injured on Saturday and is out of the game, replaced by teammate Brian McCann. After losing out on the vote, Puig tweeted out a thank you to his fans but remained mum on the results of the vote. Could he be letting a pouty-faced baby do the pouting for him?

Along with the photo, Puig tweeted, roughly translated from Spanish, "Look at that little girl, what a beauty."

The photo was one of several he tweeted. While the crying kid wore blue, the rest were of a girl in pink. No word on who either kid was, or if they were the same kid, but Puig sure seemed to take a liking to this girl:
