Padres option Ohlendorf to minors

The San Diego Padres have optioned pitcher Ross Ohlendorf to Triple-A Tucson.

Ohlendorf allowed a career-high eight runs and six hits in 2 1-3 innings Friday night during the San Francisco Giants' 10-1 win. He gave up seven runs over three innings in his previous start, an 11-5 loss at Pittsburgh.

Ohlendorf is 4-4 with a 7.58 ERA in 13 appearances, including nine starts.

The Padres recalled right-hander Nick Vincent from Tucson for the fourth time this season. Vincent was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in seven appearances during his first three stints with San Diego.
