Padres offer arbitration to 3 free agents

The San Diego Padres have offered salary arbitration to three free agents: right-handers Kevin Correia and Jon Garland, and catcher Yorvit Torrealba.

The Padres did not offer arbitration to infielders David Eckstein and Miguel Tejada.

The deadline for free agents to accept arbitration offers is Nov. 30. If a player accepts, he is considered signed for the 2011 season, with the salary to be determined.

The Padres will be compensated with draft picks should Correia, Garland or Torrealba sign with another club.
