Cubs to replace missing bricks

The Cubs and Wrigley Field made headlines for all the wrong reasons earlier this week when some of their commemorative bricks were found in a local landfill.

However, the Cubs have done their best to quiet the controversy and have promised fans that the bricks will be replaced, according to DNA info.

"I want to make sure to point out our vendor believes these pavers were taken from the site by unknown individuals without authorization. We knew they would be damaged during the removal process, which is why we communicated we were replacing them in the first place, but we did not anticipate someone taking them for misguided purposes," Cubs spokesman Julian Green told DNA info.

The report also said that β€œthe Cubs sent letters to owners of the bricks explaining the replacements should be ready by Opening Day 2016.”
