Cards' Molina leaves during at-bat

Published May. 27, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Yadier Molina was taken out of the game during an at-bat in the fifth inning against the Phillies and the Cardinals said he was dehydrated.

Molina, who's batting .325 with seven homers and 28 RBI, was lifted as a precaution, the team said.

Molina was 2 for 2, hitting his third career grand slam in the first inning off Roy Halladay and singling in the fourth. He left with a 2-1 count with two outs and none on in the fifth after meeting with a trainer and manager Mike Matheny.

Backup catcher Tony Cruz finished the at-bat by grounding out to the pitcher and replaced Molina behind the plate in the sixth.
