Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown revealed via his twitter account a new pair of cleats for Week Four that will pay tribute to the late Arnold Palmer.
Antonio Brown and Arnold Palmer are both iconic sports stars in the Pittsburgh area. Palmer grew up in Latrobe, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh. Brown, the Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver had a strong relationship off of the field with Palmer.
In an attempt to honor Palmer, who had passed away last week, Brown revealed via his twitter account that he would wear custom cleats with Palmer’s face on them and Palmer’s nickname, “the King”.

While it is a nice tribute to a sports legend, the NFL will most likely have a different opinion. In week one, Antonio Brown was dealt a hefty fine for wearing blue cleats and twerking in the end zone. Brown wore similar cleats in week two but did not receive a fine.

In week three, Brown wore cleats with pictures of all of his children’s faces on them. In this instance, Brown was not only fined, he was threatened by the referees to change his cleats at the half or they would not allow him to play in the second half.
So now we get to wait and see if the NFL will take action again against Brown who does not seem to care about the money, but should fear that being kicked out of a game will cost his team. Nonetheless, the cleats are extremely cool, and Brown deserves some respect for paying homage.
It would be a nice gesture if he gives the cleats to the Palmer family after the game too.
