Alabama lands commitment from top-ranked JC offensive lineman

Published Jun. 7, 2016 1:32 a.m. ET

Alabama has had an interesting couple of months with offensive tackles.

The Tide dismissed Charles Baldwin, the nation's top junior college O-line signee, in May and then a few days later, their best lineman, left tackle Cam Robinson was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, leaving his status for 2016 uncertain.

On Monday night, Nick Saban's program got some good news. Elliot Baker, a guy some college coaches have told FOX Sports is their top-ranked JC offensive tackle in the 2017 recruiting class, committed to the Tide.

The 6-7, 295-pound Baker announced the news via Twitter.

Baker, who plays at City College of San Francisco, is expected to arrive in Tuscaloosa in December and have three years to use his two seasons of eligibility.
