Williams' 26 points, 10 assists lead Northeastern past Maine

BOSTON (AP) TJ Williams had 26 points and a career-high 10 assists for his second career double-double, Bolden Brace added 10 points with 10 rebounds, and Northeastern beat Maine 80-72 on Sunday in the Steve Wright Classic.

Northeastern held a 37-36 lead at halftime and the Huskies opened the second half on a 13-2 run - capped by back-to-back 3-pointers by Shawn Occeus and Devon Begley - for a 50-38 lead.

Danny Evans tied it at 59 after making a 3-pointer with 5:52 left but Northeastern scored the next eight points. The Huskies' lead was trimmed to six points with 34 seconds left but Brace made it a three-possession game at the line.

Begley made three 3-pointers and scored 12 points for Northeastern (3-2), which hit 11 of 25 from 3-point range. Occeus also connected on three 3-pointers for nine points.

Wes Myers led Maine (1-3) with 19 points and Vincent Eze added 13 points. Evans hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
