Washington State edges Utah Valley 83-76

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) Freshman Malachi Flynn scored a season-best 27 points and Washington State snapped a two-game losing streak with an 83-76 victory over Utah Valley on Wednesday night.

Washington State led by 19 points with 16:41 left in the game, but Utah Valley closed the gap to five points with 5:44 remaining, making five of their last six shots.

Brandon Randolph's dunk with 1:06 remaining pulled Utah Valley to 77-76 with 1:06 left. Josh Hawkinson answered on the other end and after Utah Valley missed two 3s, Charles Callison hit two free throws with 24 seconds left for a four-point lead.

Flynn was 11 for 14 from the field and 2 for 3 from 3-point range. Derrien King added 13 points and Hawkinson had his 45th career double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

The Wolverines (4-2) were led by Kenneth Ogbe with 20 points. Ogbe, Isaac Neilson and Zach Nelson all scored in the double figures.
