Tuach hits 4 3s, scores 20; LMU beats NAIA Vanguard 99-51

LOS ANGELES (AP) Buay Tuach hit four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting and Loyola Marymount beat NAIA Vanguard 99-51 on Friday night.

Tuach, a senior, came into the game with 95 career points.

Jeffery McClendon had 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting, Stefan Jovanovic scored 13 with seven rebounds and Petr Herman finished with eight points, 10 rebounds and a career-high-tying four assists for LMU (1-0).

Tuach hit two 3s during a 20-2 run to open the game and Loyola Marymount led by at least 14 points the rest of the way.

Vanguard made 5 of 35 (14.3 percent) second-half shots, including just 1 of 18 from 3-point range, and finished shooting 23.2 percent.

Jamaal Lee led Vanguard (2-1) with 12 points. Zach Allmon added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Loyola Marymount had 27 assists on 36 field goals and shot 50.7 percent from the field.
