Texas-Arlington rolls past Texas State 75-69

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Kaelon Wilson had 13 points and Charles Drew added 11 to help lead Texas-Arlington to a 75-69 victory over Texas State on Tuesday night.

Jalen Jones and Nick Pallas added 10 points apiece and Erick Neal dished out nine assists for Texas-Arlington (20-9, 11-7) which is battling for a first-round bye in the Sun Belt Conference tournament with two home games remaining in the regular season. The Mavericks, who have won six of their last eight games, moved into a tie for third place with Louisiana-Lafayette.

Texas-Arlington has only five 20-win seasons in its history.

The Mavericks jumped out to a 39-28 halftime advantage and were up 52-40 with 14:03 left. Texas State's Ethan Montalvo drilled a trey to start a 15-4 run as the Bobcats closed to 56-55 with 8:11 left. The Mavs answered with a 15-3 run and the win.

Emani Gant led Texas State (12-15, 6-12) with 15 points.
