Stephen F. Austin beats Nicholls State 88-53

THIBADAUX, La. (AP) Clide Geffrard scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Stephen F. Austin beat Nicholls State 88-53 on Saturday.

Demetrious Floyd added 17 points for the Lumberjacks (20-5, 13-0 Southland), who have won 13 straight and are undefeated in conference play. Ty Charles had 16 points and Thomas Walkup netted his fifth double-double this season, scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds.

After a slow start for both teams, the Lumberjacks climbed to a 22-14 lead midway through the first half on C.J. Williams' 3-point play. That sparked a 9-0 surge that extended their lead to 31-14 with 6:11 left in the half on their way to a 48-25 advantage at the break.

The Lumberjacks led the rest of the way and JaQuan Smith had a pair of dunks in the final 2:22 to seal the win.

Adam Ward scored 13 points for the Colonels (7-20, 3-10).
