St. Bonaventure beats St. Francis (PA) 92-82

SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) Denzel Gregg and Jaylen Adams scored 23 points apiece as St. Bonaventure beat St. Francis (PA) 92-82 in a season opener on Saturday.

Gregg was 11 of 16 from the field with three blocks and Adams was 7 of 15 and had eight assists for the Bonnies. Matt Mobley added 21 points including five 3-pointers and Josh Ayeni chipped in 10 points off the bench. The team averaged 51.6 percent shooting from the field and 70 percent from the line.

Gregg sank a 3-pointer and a layup and Mobley followed with another 3 as the Bonnies pulled to a 47-38 lead with 2:09 left in the first half. They were up 51-39 at the break and never trailed after that.

The Red Flash cut the lead to 71-68 with 6:21 to play but two Mobley 3-pointers after that sealed the win.

Jamaal King led the Red Flash with 21 points. Josh Nebo had nine rebounds.
