New Saint Louis coach Ford hires Bailey as first assistant

ST. LOUIS (AP) New Saint Louis coach Travis Ford has hired Will Bailey as his first assistant.

Bailey has been at La Salle the last six seasons and also has been an assistant at East Tennessee State, Maine, Chicago State and UAB. He's been a part of five NCAA Tournament teams including the 2012-13 La Salle team that advanced to the round of 16.

Bailey played at UAB for two seasons and led the team in assists as a senior in 1996-97. He was also named the team's top defensive player that season.
