Memphis beats Temple 67-65 on Tarrant's free throws
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Shaq Goodwin scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Ricky Tarrant Jr. added 13 and the winning free throws, and Memphis rallied to beat Temple 67-65 on Wednesday night.
Trailing 37-31 at halftime, Goodwin's putback tied it at 52 before Temple replied with a 6-0 run.
Goodwin tied it at 63 with two free throws, then put Memphis (11-5, 2-1 America East) up 64-63 after making 1 of 2 from the line.
Josh Brown's layup tied it at 65 with two seconds left. But Tarrant was fouled on the next possession and made both free throws for the win. Temple's Devin Coleman missed his 3 attempt at the buzzer.
Dedric Lawson scored 16 points with 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double, the most by a true freshman in Memphis history.
Brown scored 15 and Jaylen Bond had his 11th career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for Temple (8-7, 3-1).
