Memphis beats Milwaukee 68-54

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Dedric Lawson scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Memphis beat Milwaukee 68-54 on Wednesday night.

Lawson was 10 of 21 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, for the Tigers (2-0). Markel Crawford added 15 points and K.J. Lawson had 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team averaged 46 percent shooting from the field and just 16.7 percent from the line. The Tigers outrebounded Milwaukee 40-27.

Lawson hit a 3-pointer early in the first half to erase an early Milwaukee lead and put the Tigers on top 14-11. They led 38-24 at the break.

A Crawford 3 followed by a Jeremiah Martin layup and a Jimario Rivers dunk gave Memphis a 62-46 advantage with 5:18 to play and the Tigers cruised from there.

Cody Wichmann scored 18 points for the Panthers (1-1).
