Maryland-Eastern Shore cruises to 85-67 win over Howard

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) Devin Martin hit four 3-pointers and finished with 21 points, and Dominique Elliott finished with 17 points and a career-high tying 11 rebounds to help Maryland-Eastern Shore beat Howard 85-67 Monday night.

Bakari Copeland added 20 points for the Hawks, who hit a season-high tying 11 3-pointers and made 20 of 24 free throws.

Martin hit two 3s as Maryland-Eastern Shore (7-16, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) jumped to a 13-2 lead fewer than five minutes in.

A dunk by Marcel Boyd, and a jumper by Kofi Andoh trimmed Howard's deficit to five with eight minutes left in the first half, but the Hawks made eight of their next 12 field-goal attempts and led 48-31 at the break.

Howard (10-12, 4-3) trailed by double figures throughout the second half.

James Daniel III scored 28, Andoh added 14 points and Boyd had 13 with 12 rebounds for the Bison.
