Lipscomb rains 3s on Florida Gulf Coast in 91-75 upset

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) J.C. Hampton scored 26 points with half a dozen 3-pointers as Lipscomb dropped 19 of the long range bombs to upset Florida Gulf Coast 91-75 Sunday and tie this season's Division I NCAA mark for most 3-pointers in a game.
The loss snaps FGCU's seven-game winning streak and is the Eagles' first in conference.
Garrison Matthews scored 15 points with three 3-pointers, Brett Wishon 14 with four treys, Nathan Moran 13 points with three 3-pointers and Cam Miller 12 points with a pair of threes for Lipscomb (6-16, 2-3 Atlantic Sun). The Bisons shot 55-percent from the field and were even better - 58 percent - from 3-point range.
Marc-Eddy Norelia led FGCU (13-7, 4-1) with 19 points and Julian Debose added 17.
The win marks the first time this season that injury-hampered Lipscomb has won consecutive games. The Bisons are tied with six other teams for most 3-pointers in a game this season.
