Lehigh beats Colgate 71-54 for 8th straight win

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) Tim Kempton scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Lehigh beat Colgate 71-54 on Wednesday night for its eighth straight win.

The win streak is the Mountain Hawks longest since the 2012-13 season.

For Kempton, the game was his fifth double-double in the last six outings. Austin Price added 14 points and Kahron Ross had 12 for Lehigh (14-14, 12-5), which shot 53.1 percent from the field and 10 of 20 from 3-point range.

Sean O'Brien, Austin Tillotson, and Tom Rivard each scored 11 points for Colgate (13-15, 9-8), which was held to just 33.3 percent shooting.

Lehigh led 34-25 at the half, but a Rivard 3-pointer cut its lead to 46-42 to with 9:08 left. But Tyler Jenkins drilled a 3 for the Mountain Hawks on the next possession, sparking a 14-0 run which extended their advantage back to 18. The Raiders never threatened again.
