IPFW beats Nebraska-Omaha late 94-90

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) DeAngelo Stewart scored 23 points, and Michael Calder's go-ahead 3-point play with 1:08 to play lifted IPFW past Omaha 94-90 on Saturday night.

Calder - who scored 19 points - broke an 88-all tie.

Trae-Deon Hollins' layup brought the Mavericks to within 91-90. Calder then missed a jumper with 39 seconds left, but Hollins was called for a foul with 18 seconds to go and Max Landis hit two free throws for a 93-90 lead. Devin Patterson missed a 3 for the chance to tie it with six seconds left.

IPFW (22-7, 11-3 Summit League) remains a game ahead of South Dakota State (21-7, 10-4). IPFW finished the 2013-14 season with a 25-11 record, its best Division I season to date.

Landis finished with 20 points and John Konchar added 19.

Hollins led Omaha (17-12, 9-6) with 24 points and Randy Reed added 19 on 9-for-11 shooting.
