Harris makes 6 3s, Quinnipiac tops Niagara 82-68
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) Daniel Harris made six 3-pointers and scored 18 points, Giovanni McLean added 19 and Quinnipiac shot better than 70 percent from beyond the arc to topple Niagara 82-68 on Saturday.
Harris shot 6 of 9 and McLean 3 of 3 on 3-pointers for Quinnipiac (6-13, 3-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), whose 70.6 percent shooting from deep was its best since making 9 of 12 (75 percent) in a 2007 win over Dartmouth.
McLean and Harris combined for eight points of a 12-0 run to close the first half and give the Bobcats a 38-30 lead at the break. It remained an eight-point game until five minutes in when Harris hit back-to-back triples and McLean followed with his own to put Quinnipiac up by 17, its largest lead to that point.
Matt Scott had 22 points for Niagara (6-17, 4-8), marking the fifth straight game he's scored at least 20.
