Georgetown storms back to beat Creighton 74-73

WASHINGTON (AP) D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored 19 points, including two key free throws with 6.2 seconds left, to help Georgetown rally past Creighton 74-73 on Tuesday night.
Creighton went on a 10-2 run for a 64-53 lead with five minutes left. L.J. Peak's reverse layup with 3:46 remaining ended Georgetown's field goal drought of five-plus minutes and the Hoyas trailed 66-57.
Georgetown's late full-court press caused problems for Creighton. Kaleb Johnson's steal and fast-break dunk cut it to 71-70 with 52 seconds left. But James Milliken hit both free throws with 44.9 seconds left to extend Creighton's lead to 73-70.
After Reggie Cameron's tip-in pulled Georgetown to 73-72, Creighton's Khyri Thomas missed both free throws with 23.3 seconds left and Smith-Rivera hit both from the stripe for a one-point lead. Milliken's contested layup was off the mark at the buzzer.
Peak added 11 points for Georgetown (13-8, 6-2 Big East), which closed on an 11-2 run.
Maurice Watson Jr. led Creighton (14-7, 5-3) with 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
