ESPN's Holly Rowe returns after cancer surgery

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 12:58 p.m. ET

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) ESPN reporter Holly Rowe returned to work at Monday night's basketball game between No. 1 Kansas and No. 23 Texas after surgery to remove a tumor from her chest.

Rowe said she's excited to be back and had a ''conservative'' scheduled planned to work the Big 12 Tournament and the NCAA women's Tournament, including the women's Final Four.

Rowe said she didn't want to miss the Big 12 Tournament after ''the best Big 12 season in history.''

The recent surgery was her second to remove a tumor. Rowe said her doctor told her that doing something that makes her happy will aid her recovery. Rowe said reporting on the teams and sports she's covered ''her whole life'' makes her smile.
