Dedric Lawson, Randall lead Memphis to victory, 99-86

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Dedric Lawson and Craig Randall scored 21 points each for Memphis in a 99-86 victory over Savannah State on Saturday.
Lawson also grabbed 10 rebounds for his 20th double-double. K.J. Lawson, Dedric's older brother, and Markel Crawford added 14 points each.
Savannah State (1-3) threw up 48 3-point attempts. They made 16, matching their nationally leading average. Memphis (3-0) attempted 29 from the arc, making just seven, but dominated in the paint, outscoring Savannah State 54-22.
Casey Well, 8 of 13 from the arc, led Savannah State with 24 points. Dexter McClanahan added 16.
Savannah State virtually matched its average of 85.3 points per game, though it came in giving up an NCAA-worst average of 107.3.
Memphis built an 18-point lead by the 12:42 mark of the second half. Savannah State cut it to nine before being outscored 10-2 in the four-minute span to trail by 17 with a minute to go.
