Daum propels South Dakota State past Milwaukee 81-58

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Mike Daum scored a career-high 32 points to lead South Dakota State to an 81-58 win over Milwaukee on Sunday.

Daum hit 10 of 13 from the field, went 11 of 13 from the free-throw line and dished out six assists as South Dakota State (2-6) cruised to its first win over a Division I team this season. Reed Tellinghuisen added 11 points, A.J. Hess had nine and Skyler Flatten eight.

The Jackrabbits opened with an 11-0 burst and extended it to a 19-3 lead midway through the first half, taking a 44-19 advantage into the break. Daum had 11 points in the extended run and capped it with a 3-pointer.

The margin never tightened below double figures in the second half.

Milwaukee (2-4) got 18 points from Cody Wichmann and Bryce Barnes had 13. Brock Stull finished with nine points and nine rebounds for the Panthers.
