Cremo scores 24, Albany defeats Marist 78-66.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Joe Cremo had 24 points, a career-high seven assists and six rebounds, leading Albany to a 78-66 win over Marist on Wednesday night.

Dallas Ennema hit 5 of 7 shots, including three 3s, to score 16 points off the bench for the Great Danes (5-4). Mike Rowley and Marqueese Grayson added 14 points apiece.

Albany led 30-21 at the half and was up 19 with 13:06 to play, outscoring Marist 42-34 in the paint. The Great Danes made 16 of 20 free throws in the second half to finish 21 of 28 for the game. The Red Foxes were just 5 of 8 from the line.

Ryan Funk had 18 points, all on 3-pointers, for Marist (4-6). Brian Parker had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Khallid Hart, who averages 19.3 points, was held to 10.

Albany won at Marist last season, their first meeting since 1978 and the first time the schools met at the Division I level. The Great Danes lead the series 11-2.
