Cal State Bakersfield dominates NAIA Pacific Union 79-46

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Damiyne Durham scored 19 points and added five steals to help Cal State Bakersfield cruise past NAIA Pacific Union 79-46 on Wednesday night.

Durham hit five 3-pointers and finished 7 of 19 overall from the field. Jaylin Airington added 18 points and 8 rebounds while Matt Smith finished with 11 points and also grabbed eight boards for the Roadrunners (5-3), who have won all four of their home games.

Jayson Marquez finished with 13 points to lead the Pioneers, who were plagued by poor shooting, finishing just 17 of 54 from the field (31.5 percent) and 2 of 20 from long range.

Cal State Bakersfield took control in the last seven minutes of the first half, turning a 17-16 deficit into a 41-25 lead at the break. A Durham 3 extended the lead past 20 (49-27) early in the second, and his fifth and final 3 pushed it past 30.
