Cal Poly beats Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills 75-64

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) Josh Martin had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists, Donovan Fields made 5 of 8 shots for 15 points, and Cal Poly beat Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills 75-64 on Thursday night for the Mustangs' first victory of the season.

Cal Poly trailed 35-32 at halftime but battled back to tie it at 50-all with 10:03 left. Martin sealed it when he scored six points during an 8-0 run for a 69-59 lead with 1:33 left.

Victor Joseph added 13 points, and Luke Meikle and Kyle Toth had 12 points each for Cal Poly (1-2). The Mustangs turned 14 turnovers by the Toros into 21 points.

The Mustangs were 17 of 23 from the line, while the Toros only went to the stripe 11 times.

Vincent Golson led Cal State Dominguez Hills (1-2) with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Justin Sadler added 12 points and five rebounds for the Toros, who led by as many as 16 points with 6:14 left in the first half.
