Brown's board helps North Dakota State fend off IUPUI 63-59

FARGO, N.D. (AP) Kory Brown scored 14 points and collected 12 rebounds, including a key offensive rebound with six seconds left, and North Dakota State edged past IUPUI 63-59 on Saturday.

A.J. Jacobson made the first of two free throws to give the Bison a 61-59 lead. He missed the second, but Brown grabbed the offensive board and got it to Carlin Dupree, who was fouled and converted both free throws.

Brown added six assists and three blocks, notching his third double-double of the season and fifth career.

Darell Combs' 3-pointer brought IUPUI within one at 60-59 with 16 seconds left.

Brown converted a 3-point play to give North Dakota State (18-10, 8-6 Summit) a 15-point lead with 8:50 to play, but the Bison went 0 for 5 from the field the rest of the way and missed seven free throws.

Combs scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half for the Jaguars (12-17, 8-6).
