Bradd scores 30 points; Belmont beats Jacksonville St. 72-63
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) Evan Bradds scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Belmont rolled to a 72-63 victory over Jacksonville State on Thursday night for its ninth-straight win.
Bradds made 12 of 15 field goals and topped 30 points for a second straight game. Craig Bradshaw added 16 points for Belmont (16-6, 8-0 Ohio Valley), which shot 54 percent from the floor.
Greg Tucker had 15 points and Jeremy Watson added 14 to lead Jacksonville State (8-16, 4-5).
The game was tied at 20-all midway through the first half. Bradshaw scored four points, sparking a 17-6 run to give the Bruins a 37-27 halftime lead.
Tucker made a 3 to pull the Gamecocks to 50-45 with 11 minutes left.
Bradds scored nine points and Bradshaw added six as part of 19-10 spurt to stretch the Bruins' lead to 69-55 with 3:21 remaining and cruised from there.
