Bond helps Temple top South Florida 77-65

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jaylen Bond scored 18 points with 14 rebounds and Temple beat South Florida 77-65 on Sunday.
Bond was 9 of 17 from the field and had six offensive rebounds for Temple (16-8, 10-3 American), which has won five in a row to take the top spot in the conference. The Owls shot nearly 48 percent and made 9 of 24 from beyond the arc. Obi Enechionyia also had 18 points, Quenton DeCosey scored 12 points and Josh Brown added 11 points with nine assists.
Jahmal McMurray led South Florida (5-21, 2-11) with 24 points. The Bulls have dropped four straight, including two to Temple. Nehemias Morillo scored 16 points and Ruben Guerrero added 12.
Temple raced out to a 15-4 lead after six minutes as USF made just two of its first seven shots and turned it over four times in the stretch. The Owls led 40-31 at intermission and maintained that advantage throughout the second half.
