Raum had seven crosses (one accurate) and four corners in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Mainz.
Impact

ROTOWIRE
Xavi Simons - Three shots in loss
Simons recorded three shots (one on goal), five crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus Mainz.
Impact
Simons was Leipzig's best player on the attack Saturday as he tied for the team lead in shots and whipped in a season-high five crosses. He has been off to a red-hot start this season as he has 11 goal contributions in 13 games in Bundesliga and Champions League play.

ROTOWIRE
Janis Blaswich - Concedes twice in loss
Blaswich recorded one save and allowed two goals in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus Mainz.
Impact
Blaswich conceded two goals Saturday, his most in a Bundesliga match since Sept. 30 versus Bayern. His defense played fairly well and they gave now allowed four or fewer shots on target in five straight matches. He faces a more favorable matchup in Champions League play Tuesday at Red Star Belgrade.

Dani Olmo - Undergoes successful surgery
Olmo underwent successful surgery for a sprained acromioclavicular joint in his shoulder and is "doing well", the team announced.
Impact
There is no exact timetable for Olmo's return, but is guaranteed to miss the rest of the calendar year. He had started three of the six matches played for the team, recording three goals and one assist. The midfielder also dealt with a knee injury in September that lost him his starting role even after his hot start to the season.

ROTOWIRE
Amadou Haidara - Busy in cup
Haidara got the start and played 80 minutes during Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg.
Impact
Haidara replaced Kevin Kampl, who was rested after a busy run in the starting XI. Despite his good showings it's more likely than not that Haidara is a limited option moving forward, with Kampl and Xaver Schlager preferred to him in the starting XI.

ROTOWIRE
Fabio Carvalho - Minor role off bench
Carvalho came off the bench for the final four minutes of Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the DfB Pokal.
Impact
Carvalho came off the bench Tuesday playing an extremely limited role. The attacking midfielder has fallen totally out of favor in Leipzig and doesn't seem to be in line for any sort of consistent minutes in any competitions.

ROTOWIRE
Peter Gulacsi - Active in cup once more
Gulacsi got the start for Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the DfB Pokal.
Impact
Gulacsi's seems truly relegated to the backup behind Janis Blaswich. Having two excellent goalkeeper's is certainly a good problem to have for Leipzig, but it's still surprising to see Gulacsi relegated to a backup role. The veteran goalkeeper would have top level value if anything were to happen to Blaswich.

ROTOWIRE
Kevin Kampl - Returns off bench
Kampl played the final 17 minutes of Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the DfB Pokal.
Impact
Kampl came off the bench for the final 17 minutes after being rested at the weekend. The midfielder has played a consistent role in all competitions of late so it's unsurprising he was given a chance to rest and recover. Kampl should be back ahead of Amadou Haidara for a Saturday trip to Mainz.

ROTOWIRE
Kevin Kampl - On bench for Tuesday
Kampl (rest) is on the bench for Tuesday's DFB Pokal clash with Wolfsburg.

Dani Olmo - Surgery possible
Olmo (shoulder) is set to be miss the remainder of 2023 due to a shoulder injury, according to manager Marco Rose.
Impact
Olmo returned off the bench for the third time since recovering from a leg issue and is now on the sideline indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Rose also added that surgery is possible. It's yet another awful turn for Olmo who is incredibly talented when on the pitch but can seemingly never stay fit and available. Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg will be in for more minutes with Olmo sidelined.

Janis Blaswich - Easy win
Blaswich made one save and allowed zero goals in Saturday's 6-0 victory versus 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Blaswich faced just one shot and stopped it to come away with the clean sheet with ease. The goalkeeper is up to five clean sheets in nine Bundesliga matches and is keeping Peter Gulacsi out of the starting XI on merit at this point. Blaswich was the backup but has truly earned a major role during almost 12 months as the first choice in net.

ROTOWIRE
Benjamin Henrichs - Assists in win
Henrichs assisted once to go with three shots (one on goal), four crosses (three accurate) and five chances created in Saturday's 6-0 victory versus 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Henrichs got on the scoresheet for the second time in three matches with yet another assist. The right-back has been a consistent piece of the starting XI and is the first choice on the right flank in all formations. It's a nice role for Henrichs, who seems to be growing into his more offensive role, having already tied his season-high for assists.

ROTOWIRE
Xavi Simons - Pair of assists
Simons assisted twice to go with four shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 6-0 win versus 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Simons was held off the scoresheet for six matches in a row after a hot start. Now he has added four goal contributions in the last two matches. Simons hasn't been the safest floor option, lacking some consistency, but he has been brilliant going forward and is up to nine goal contributions in nine Bundesliga matches. Simons has also added a pair of goal contributions in the Champions League.

ROTOWIRE
Benjamin Sesko - Scores off bench
Sesko scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 6-0 win versus 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Sesko's frustrating role off the bench continues, though he now has scored three times in just 212 minutes on the pitch. On a rate basis that's a stellar pace, but the brilliant form of Lois Openda means Sesko largely has remained on the bench. Still matches in multiple competitions should give Sesko plenty of time to grow into more minutes throughout 2023/24.

•
ROTOWIRE
Christoph Baumgartner - Nets off bench
Baumgartner scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 6-0 victory over 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Baumgartner's role hasn't changed really he remains a consistent piece off the bench in the closing stages of each match and he's done well with that role. Across 183 minutes in the Bundesliga Baumgartner has scored and assisted once each putting his rate stats at an elite level. Still it seems unlikely he will be handed a starting role barring injuries elsewhere.

•
ROTOWIRE
David Raum - Nets again
Raum scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), 14 crosses (two accurate) and eight corners in Saturday's 6-0 win against 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Raum has found some fine goal scoring form of late, with one goal in each of his last two matches. The full-back was known as a prolific assister before joining Leipzig and is now adding even more to his offensive game. Raum will hope to carry this sort of form into a Saturday trip to Mainz, who are very beatable at the back.

•
ROTOWIRE
Timo Werner - Nets from spot
Werner scored one goal to go with three shots (three on goal) in Saturday's 6-0 win versus 1. FC Koln. He was subbed off due to injury in the 63rd minute.
Impact
Werner scored a penalty in the first half and came off injured in the second half. It's not clear how serious the injury might be but it is a concern for the attacking midfielder. If he misses any sort of time that could point towards more minutes for Benjamin Sesko or Emil Forsberg. Werner's first chance to return is a Saturday trip to Mainz.

•
ROTOWIRE
Lois Openda - Nets brace
Openda scored two goals to go with six shots (four on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 6-0 win versus 1. FC Koln.
Impact
Openda has four goals in his last two Bundesliga matches and is having no issues finding the back of the net with his new team. The striker is in flying form and is up to eight goals and two assists during his first nine appearances. With this sort of form Openda is a dangerous option in any match.

•
ROTOWIRE
Kevin Kampl - Out due to rest
Kampl is not in the match day squad to face Koln on Saturday due to being rested.
Impact
Kampl is given the match off as the club cited "load management" as the reason why. Amadou Haidara takes Kampl's role in the starting XI.

•
ROTOWIRE
Kevin Kampl - Active display in UCL win
Kampl had two shots (one on target) and made three tackles (all won) and four clearances during Wednesday's 3-1 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade.
Impact
Kampl had another solid performance in front of the defensive line, with his usual tenacity in the middle of the park being key for his side to stay away from danger most of the time. And the captain was also very important with the ball, helping in the early build-up of plays and going up the field to have a couple of finishes himself. However, it can be considered more of a fluke as Kampl's role as a holding midfielder usually prevents him from providing significant fantasy contributions.
