Impact O'Connor helped out on two even-strength tallies by Kiefer Sherwood. This was O'Connor's first contribution on offense since Opening Night, ending a 10-game slump. Under normal circumstances, that might have put him at risk of a healthy scratch, but the Canucks' injury woes have forced him into a larger role -- he saw a season-high 16:19 of ice time Thursday after Brock Boeser (undisclosed) left the game early. O'Connor has three helpers, 13 shots on net, 10 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 12 outings.

The 30-year-old has added 24 shots on net, 54 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-3 rating across 12 appearances. Sherwood shooting 37.5 percent won't last, but he could be poised for an even more significant role if Brock Boeser (undisclosed) misses time after exiting Thursday's game. Count on Sherwood for decent offense and elite physical play.

Kevin Lankinen - Picks up shootout win Lankinen stopped 36 of 39 shots in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blues.
Impact The Blues had far more pressure in the game, but Kiefer Sherwood's hat trick and Lankinen's play between the pipes got the game to a shootout. There, Lankinen made three more saves to secure the win, which was just his second in five outings. He's at a 2-3-0 record with a 3.53 GAA and an .885 save percentage. The 30-year-old has filled a backup role behind Thatcher Demko, though the Canucks have not given more than two consecutive starts to Demko, so Lankinen should still carve out a decent amount of playing time.

Impact Boeser was in just one shift before exiting the game. Vancouver is now down to 11 healthy forwards, so the Canucks might need to summon someone from the minors unless Boeser is able to return for Saturday's game in Minnesota. In addition to making a roster move, Vancouver is also likely to give Kiefer Sherwood a bigger role if Boeser isn't available versus the Wild.
