Thatcher Demko - No timetable for return
Demko (knee) has made a lot of progress over the last 2-3 weeks, but said Thursday there is still no timetable for his return, Harman Dayal of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Demko also said that he had a minor procedure done in the offseason that was unrelated to his knee injury. Demko stated that he has an unique injury and hasn't found any hockey player with a similar injury. Should Demko miss the start of the regular season, look for Arturs Silovs to take over the No. 1 job with the Canucks.

Tucker Poolman - Not playing in 2024-25
Poolman (head) won't play in 2024-25, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.
Impact
Poolman will miss his second full campaign due to migraines that have occurred after multiple head injuries, mostly recently in October of 2022. He is in the final year of a four-year contract he signed in July of 2021, and at this point, it seems likely his migraines will result in the end of his career. Poolman is likely to be formally placed on long-term injured reserve for another season in the coming weeks.

Demko is not expected to participate in training camp or preseason games as part of his recovery plan. More details may be available after his media session, but Demko is likely to continue to need to manage his workload even once he's cleared for games.

Cole McWard - Still out to begin main camp
McWard is recovering from a lower-body surgery and won't be on the ice Thursday when the Canucks begin training camp, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Impact
First news of McWard's injury surfaced when he was ruled out of rookie games last week. His surgery was to address a nagging injury that bothered him in 2023-24. McWard hasn't been ruled out of preseason games yet, but he'll be starting the year slowly while finishing his recovery.

Teddy Blueger - Recovering from minor surgery
Blueger is recovering from a lower-body surgery and won't participate in the Canucks' first day of on-ice practice Thursday, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Impact
It doesn't appear Blueger will miss much time while recovering, but he will be out of action to begin camp. He may be brought along slowly, but the 30-year-old center is a near lock to feature on a regular basis in a bottom-six role once he's healthy.
