Derek Forbort - Ready to return Forbort (personal) is ready to rejoin the Canucks, Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK reported Thursday.
Impact Forbort has been away from the Canucks for the last week. The defenseman has missed the last three games and has one assist in three appearances this season. Vancouver sent Erik Brannstrom to the AHL earlier in the day and Forbort is expected to take his place in the lineup when Pittsburgh comes to town Saturday.

Arshdeep Bains - Assigned to AHL Bains was assigned to AHL Abbotsford on Thursday.
Impact Bains spent two weeks with the NHL club and appeared in three games, tallying six hits and a blocked shot while averaging 12:38 of ice time. He should have more consistent opportunities to contribute in the minors.

Impact Brannstrom has logged three NHL games this season, including Tuesday's clash with the Blackhawks in which he recorded his first point of the season. The decision to reassign the 25-year-old blueliner could be an indication that Derek Forbort (personal) will rejoin the team soon or simply a cap-saving measure since the team is off until Saturday's clash with Pittsburgh.

Filip Hronek - Garners assist Tuesday Hronek logged an assist, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.
Impact Hronek hasn't stood out much to begin 2024-25, logging just two assists (one on the power play) over six contests. The defenseman has partially made up for the lack of offense with 14 hits, 10 blocked shots, nine shots on net, six PIM and a plus-4 rating to provide decent category coverage outside of offense. Hronek is locked in as a top-pairing defenseman, and he also plays on the second power-play unit, so his scoring should pick up.

Impact Suter got his first goal of the season in the third period. The 28-year-old forward has two points, five shots on net, five hits, two blocked shots and a minus-1 rating across five appearances. Suter is likely to remain in a bottom-six role throughout the year, and he'll need to keep the quality of his play up to avoid being an occasional healthy scratch.

Kiefer Sherwood - Two assists in win Sherwood collected two secondary helpers in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Chicago.
Impact Sherwood extended his point streak to three games after Tuesday's two-point effort -- he's scored once and notched three assists during that span. Impact Lankinen is riding a three-game win streak -- he's allowed five goals and has posted a shutout during that span. It was the first time in four appearances this season in which Lankinen allowed more than two goals. The Finnish netminder signed a one-year contract with Vancouver in September, and he might be able to land a long-term deal after the 2024-25 campaign if he can continue his strong play between the pipes. Lankinen is sporting a 3-0-1 record, .941 save percentage and 1.70 GAA.
