Conor Garland - Bags apple in loss
Garland notched an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.
Impact
Garland has three points over his last two contests to bounce back from a six-game slump. He helped out on a Tyler Myers tally Thursday, but the Canucks' offense went cold after the first period. For the season, Garland has 37 points, 128 shots on net, 31 PIM, 38 blocked shots and 34 hits across 59 appearances. Getting his scoring back on track for the stretch run could be pivotal for the Canucks' playoff chances.

Brock Boeser - Provides assist in loss
Boeser notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.
Impact
Boeser picked up his first point in four games since the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 28-year-old winger helped out on a Pius Suter tally in the first period of this contest. Boeser hasn't logged a multi-point effort since Jan. 23 against the Oilers, picking up just five points across 12 outings in that span. He's now at 18 goals, 18 assists, 104 shots on net, 52 hits and a minus-18 rating through 52 appearances. He's also in a contract year, but with just a week until the trade deadline and the Canucks in the middle of the playoff race, it seems unlikely he'll be dealt.

Pius Suter - Scores in Thursday's loss
Suter scored a goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.
Impact
Suter gave the Canucks a 2-0 lead in the first period, but that was the extent of their scoring. He snapped his personal six-game goal drought and is up to four points over eight outings in February as a middle-six forward. For the season, the 28-year-old has 15 goals, 27 points, 89 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 58 appearances. He's on track to top the 30-point mark for the second time in his five NHL campaigns, but his relatively modest numbers across the board limit his fantasy value to deeper formats.

Tyler Myers - Goal, assist in loss
Myers scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and logged two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.
Impact
Myers opened the scoring at 3:17 of the first period and also set up a Pius Suter tally later in the frame. This was Myers' first multi-point effort in a month -- his last was Jan. 27 versus the Blues. The 35-year-old defenseman has two goals and five assists across his last 11 outings, though his offense tends to come and go at times. For the season, he's collected four goals, 16 helpers, 62 shots on net, 66 PIM, 60 hits and 101 blocked shots over 56 appearances in a top-four role.

Canucks: Is there any choice but to stick with annoyed Elias Pettersson?
Canucks are pretty much stuck with Pettersson. What a strange sentence to write about a player who had 412 points in his first 407 games

Arturs Silovs - Falters versus Ducks
Silovs allowed four goals on 24 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Impact
The Canucks spotted Silovs a 2-0 lead after the first period, but he had given it away as the Ducks led 3-2 at the second intermission. The 23-year-old netminder has allowed five goals on 56 shots over his last two outings, both losses and both in the second half of back-to-back sets. He's 1-6-1 with a 3.85 GAA and an .858 save percentage over nine NHL outings this season. That's simply not good enough for even a backup, but the Canucks have few other options available while Thatcher Demko (lower body) is on the shelf. The team doesn't have any back-to-backs over the next week, so it's unlikely Silovs sees much time in the near term.

Arturs Silovs - Slated to start Thursday
Silovs is expected to start on the road against Anaheim on Thursday, per Jeff Paterson of Canucks Army.
Impact
Silovs has a 1-5-1 record, 3.82 GAA and .862 save percentage in eight appearances this season. He did hold his own in his last start Sunday, stopping 30 of 32 shots, but he still suffered a 2-1 loss to Utah due to a lack of goal support. Anaheim ranks 32nd in the NHL with 2.51 goals per game.

Marcus Pettersson - Solid defensive game
Pettersson was a plus-1 and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Kings.
Impact
The return of Quinn Hughes (oblique) pushed Pettersson down the depth chart to the second pair with Tyler Myers for Wednesday's contest. It's the first time that the full defensive corps has been healthy for the Canucks since the former Penguin arrived via trade on Feb. 1. Pettersson has been solid defensively, but maybe the team achieving full health is what is needed for the 28-year-old to unlock the offensive part of his game that has been missing since joining Vancouver. He remains pointless in seven games with his new team.

Noah Juulsen - Headed for surgery
Juulsen (lower body) will undergo sports hernia surgery, ending his 2024-25 campaign, per Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK on Thursday.
Impact
Juulsen should be ready for the 2025-26 campaign given an expected 6-12 week recovery timeline for sports hernia surgery. Unfortunately for the 27-year-old defenseman, his season will end having failed to register a point in 35 games, though he did dish out 101 hits along the way.
