Alex Nedeljkovic - Guarding goal on Long Island Nedeljkovic will get the starting nod in Tuesday's road matchup against the Islanders, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.
Impact After being held without a win in his first three outings to open the campaign, Nedeljkovic has allowed two goals combined over back-to-back wins against Anaheim and Montreal, respectively. The 28-year-old will take an on Islanders club that ranks 31st in the league with 2.25 goals per game through 12 contests. Nedeljkovic is 2-2-1 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA over five appearances.

Impact Considering Rust didn't practice with the team Monday, he probably shouldn't be expected to play versus the Islanders on Tuesday. Still, the 32-year-old winger's presence on the trip could see him back in action sooner rather than later. As long as Evgeni Malkin keeps playing on the wing with Sidney Crosby, Rust's return likely won't be in a first-line role, though he could replace Cody Glass on the second trio.

Impact Nieto has been skating with the team for a while but appears to have upped his participation level Monday. Given the long-term nature of the 31-year-old forward's knee injury, he probably shouldn't be expected to immediately jump into the lineup versus the Islanders on Tuesday. Once given the all-clear, Nieto will have to be activated off long-term injured reserve, a move that will likely send Valtteri Puustinen down to the minors.

Impact Eller won a puck battle against two Canadiens along the boards and cleared threw the puck into the neutral zone to Blake Lizotte, who scored into an empty net to seal Pittsburgh's second straight win. The helper snapped a five-game point drought for Eller, who has four goals and three assists in 13 outings.

Rickard Rakell - Collects apple in win Rakell had an assist, one shot, one block and two hits in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Canadiens.
Impact The newly reconstituted top line gave the Penguins the first lead of the game. It started with Rakell and Evgeni Malkin bothering Mike Matheson on a puck retrieval, which forced a turnover and Rakell feeding Sidney Crosby late in the first period. The top line has been responsible for four of the five goals the Penguins scored during a modest two-game win streak. Rakell has a team-high six goals along with three assists, 34 shots, 22 hits, 12 blocks and is plus-5 through 13 appearances.

Impact Graves used to be good for 25 points a year, but he's struggled on offense since arriving in Pittsburgh. His defense hasn't been all that good in 2024-25 either, but that could be said about most of the Penguins' blueliners. Graves has accumulated 10 shots on net, 16 hits, 18 blocked shots, seven PIM and a minus-3 rating while seeing third-pairing minutes to begin this season, so he's not an option in most fantasy formats.
