Joel Blomqvist - Slated to start Friday Blomqvist is set to start on the road against Washington on Friday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Impact Blomqvist is drawing a tough assignment. Washington is 9-3-0 and ranks fourth offensively with 4.08 goals per game. Blomqvist, who is making his first start since Oct. 29, has a 2-4-0 record, 3.47 GAA and .909 save percentage in six outings in 2024-25. He has lost his last three starts while allowing 12 goals on 127 shots (.906 save percentage) over that span.

Kevin Hayes - Out Friday Hayes (upper body) won't play Friday against Washington, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Impact It will be Pittsburgh's second straight game without Hayes. He has three goals and four points in 14 appearances in 2024-25. Hayes will likely serve in a bottom-six capacity once he's healthy.

Bryan Rust - Set to play Friday Rust (lower body) was activated off injured reserve Friday, per the NHL media site, which sets the stage for him to play in this evening's game against Washington.

Impact Rust has three goals and four points in eight outings in 2024-25. He'll likely serve in a top-six capacity in his return, perhaps on the top line alongside Sidney Crosby. If Rust does play with Crosby, then Evgeni Malkin will shift to the second unit.

Impact Glass, who was injured Thursday, is ineligible to play in Pittsburgh's next three games but can be activated in time for next Friday's tilt in Columbus. He has four assists in 14 appearances in 2024-25. Bryan Rust was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move.
