Gets no help in loss Grubauer stopped 24 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Wild. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Impact Grubauer gave up three goals within the first 4:29 of the contest. The Kraken were able to make an effort on offense with 34 shots on net, but they couldn't solve Filip Gustavsson, handing Grubauer his first loss in three outings since he returned from AHL Coachella Valley. The 33-year-old netminder is down to 7-16-1 with a 3.59 GAA and an .873 save percentage over 24 appearances. Grubauer has been far too inconsistent to be trusted in fantasy, and he's unlikely to see much more than one start a week for the remainder of the campaign. Look for Joey Daccord to draw the start in Saturday's road game versus the Oilers.

Starting in Minnesota Grubauer will start Wednesday's road game versus the Wild, Jessi Pierce of NHL.com reports.
Impact Since coming back to the big club March 2, Grubauer has won both of his starts, allowing three goals on 49 shots. He'll have a tough task Wednesday, as the Kraken are on the second half of a back-to-back after Joey Daccord backstopped them to a 6-2 win over the Blackhawks on Tuesday. The Wild have been lacking on offense lately -- they haven't exceeded three goals in any of their last six games, with their last instance above that mark being a March 4 win over the Kraken.

Wins again Friday Grubauer stopped 23 of 25 shots in Friday's 4-2 win over Utah.
Impact Grubauer's time with AHL Coachella Valley looks to have served him well to get back on track. He's allowed just three goals on 49 shots over two starts, both wins, since returning from the minor-league club March 2. The 33-year-old could help alleviate Joey Daccord's workload down the stretch -- Daccord's performance has started to crater under heavy usage, and Grubauer may just be the hot hand currently. For the season, Grubauer is 7-15-1 with a 3.61 GAA and an .872 save percentage over 23 appearances. Even if he's able to claim a larger role, fantasy managers may want to proceed with caution.

Eeli Tolvanen scores early, and again late, to lead Kraken to a 4-2 win over Utah

Tending twine Friday Grubauer will be between the pipes versus Utah on Friday, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Grubauer returned to the win column Saturday for the first time since Dec. 30, stopping 23 shots in a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia. Grubauer spent a month in the minors in February after he was waived by the Kraken, and he returned with a flourish with Saturday's win. He is 6-15-1 with a 3.69 GAA and an .870 save percentage across 22 NHL appearances this season. Utah is averaging 2.83 goals per game in 2024-25, 21st in the NHL.
MARCH 14 • ROTOWIRE
First win since recall from AHL Grubauer made 23 saves in 4-1 win over the Flyers on Saturday.
Impact It was Grubauer's first NHL win since Dec. 30. He was placed on waivers by Seattle on Jan. 29 after giving up five goals on 22 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Ducks the day before. Grubauer was sent to Coachella Valley (AHL), where he was 5-2-0 with a 2.87 GAA and an .893 save percentage in seven games. His teammates really stood tall for him Saturday -- they blocked 15 shots in a true team effort.

Starting in Philadelphia Grubauer will be between the visiting pipes in Philadelphia on Saturday, according to Adam Kimelman of NHL.com.
Impact It's been a tough season for Grubauer who was waived by the Kraken in January after going 5-15-1 with a 3.83 GAA and an .866 save percentage. He turned things around a bit at AHL Coachella Valley and will make his first start since his recall Sunday. The Flyers are generating 2.86 goals per game this season, 17th in the league.

Recalled by Seattle Grubauer was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday.
Impact Grubauer was waived by the Kraken in late January, but he'll rejoin the NHL club after Nikke Kokko was sent down. Joey Daccord has been inconsistent recently, going 3-3-1 with a 3.21 GAA and .901 save percentage over his last seven appearances, so it's possible Grubauer gets some chances to tend the twine late in the season.

Seattle Kraken put struggling goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers to send him to the minors

The Seattle Kraken have put goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers with the purpose of sending him to the minors
JANUARY 29 • Associated Press
Designated for waivers Grubauer was placed on waivers Wednesday for the purpose of reassignment to AHL Coachella Valley.
Impact Grubauer is currently mired in a six-game losing streak for the Kraken, going 0-5-1 with a 4.73 GAA. The netminder went seven games without making an appearance during his slump and was disappointing when he finally got another look. Assuming Grubauer clears waivers, Ales Stezka should be recalled from the minors to serve as the backup to Joey Daacord in Seattle.
JANUARY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Poor performance Tuesday Grubauer gave up five goals on 22 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks.
Impact This was a pretty loose game all around, which doesn't tend to bode well for Grubauer. He's dropped five straight starts in regulation and has lost six in a row in January. The 33-year-old is down to 5-15-1 with a 3.83 GAA and an .866 save percentage through 21 starts this season. Joey Daccord is likely to handle the bulk of the goaltending duties until Grubauer can get out of his rut. The Kraken host the Sharks on Thursday.

Ducks score 3 goals early in 2nd period and beat Kraken 6-4 for 3rd straight win

Facing Ducks Grubauer will protect the home goal versus the Ducks on Tuesday, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports.
Impact Unsurprisingly, Grubauer will get the second half of a back-to-back after Joey Daccord was in net for a 4-2 loss to the Oilers on Monday. This will be Grubauer's first action since Jan. 12 against the Red Wings, a game in which he was pulled after giving up three goals on four shots. Grubauer has lost five straight outings (0-4-1) while allowing 17 goals in that span.
JANUARY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Pulled in loss to Detroit Grubauer conceded three goals on four shots before being replaced by Joey Daccord in the first period of Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Red Wings.
Impact Grubauer was blitzed for three goals, one on the power play, in the opening 6:16 of Sunday's defeat. Joey Daccord saw game action for a second straight day as a result. The 33-year-old Grubauer closed out December with back-to-back victories, but he's winless in January, posting an 0-3-1 record, .861 save percentage and 3.91 GAA across four outings. The German netminder has just five wins through 20 appearances to go along with an .870 percentage and 3.76 GAA this campaign.

Starting in Detroit Grubauer will guard the road goal versus the Red Wings on Sunday, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.
Impact Grubauer will get the second half of Seattle's back-to-back after Joey Daccord played in Saturday's 6-2 win over Buffalo. The 33-year-old Grubauer has a 5-13-1 record with a 3.62 GAA and an .875 save percentage across 19 appearances this season. Detroit sits 25th in the league with 2.78 goals per game in 2024-25, and the team is riding a six-game winning streak.
JANUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE
Pulled after giving up five goals Grubauer allowed five goals on 19 shots to Columbus on Tuesday before being replaced at 15:45 of the second period. The Kraken lost 6-2 to the Blue Jackets.
Impact Columbus was good, and Seatlle was sloppy, especially in the second period. Grubauer has lost four consecutive games (0-3-1), and he's 5-13-1 with a 3.62 GAA and .875 save percentage in 19 games. Don't trust him with your net.
