Impact Guhle put together a solid 2023-24 campaign for the Habs in which he set new personal bests in games played (70), goals (six), assists (16) and hits (116). While the young blueliner can offer decent fantasy value in certain formats that value hits and blocks, he does offer limited offensive upside -- in part due to his lack of power-play ice time. Still, Guhle figures to continue logging big minutes ahead of the 2024-25 campaign in a top pairing with Mike Matheson.

Impact Barron accounted for seven goals, 13 points, 60 shots on net, 59 blocked shots and 61 hits across 48 regular-season contests with the Canadiens in 2023-24. He also had two tallies and 11 points in 32 regular-season outings with AHL Laval last campaign. The 22-year-old blueliner will compete for a depth spot on Montreal's roster during training camp.

Arber Xhekaj - Inks two-year deal Xhekaj (shoulder) signed a two-year, $2.6 million contract with Montreal on Tuesday.
Impact Xhekaj was limited to just 44 NHL games last season, in part due to his shoulder problem, but could be in the mix for a full-time lineup spot this upcoming campaign. Still, even if the blueliner does make the Opening Night roster, he is far from a lock for playing time and could find himself periodically sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch. He'll need to stave off the likes of Justin Barron to maintain a spot on the third pairing.

Philippe Maillet - Headed to Switzerland Maillet signed a one-year contract with HC Ambri-Piotta of Switzerland's National League on Monday.
Impact Maillet notched 21 goals and 53 points in 67 regular-season games for AHL Laval during the 2023-24 campaign. The 31-year-old forward has only appeared in two career NHL contests, both of which came with Washington in 2020-21.

Rafael Harvey-Pinard - Suffers broken leg Harvey-Pinard suffered a broken leg that required surgery Thursday and will be sidelined for at least four months.
Impact Harvey-Pinard will miss training camp and at least the first month of the season with the injury. The 25-year-old was slated to see bottom-six minutes in 2024-25 before suffering the broken leg. He will likely be replaced on the fourth unit by Joshua Roy. Harvey-Pinard had 14 goals and 20 points in 34 games during the 2022-23 campaign, but he slumped last season, scoring only twice while adding eight assists in 45 regular-season appearances.
