Patrik Laine - Officially lands on IR Laine (abdomen) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per the NHL media site.

Impact Laine underwent core muscle surgery in late October that's expected to sideline him for 3-4 months, so his move to injured reserve is simply procedural. He's unlikely to be in the mix to return to action until at least late January or sometime in February.

Impact Del Gaizo will likely serve as an emergency depth option for the Habs' trip to Columbus on Monday, but is unlikely to get into the lineup ahead of Arber Xhekaj or Alexandre Carrier. Last season, the 26-year-old Del Gaizo saw action in 46 regular-season games with the Predators. It seems unlikely the blueliner will see that much ice time this year, given the Habs' blue line depth.

Impact Fowler has three shutouts over nine games this season. He's posted a 6-3-0 record with a 2.01 GAA and a .924 save percentage across nine games in his first full professional season. He had some trouble early in the season, but he's allowed two goals or less in six straight outings. Fowler will be given plenty of time to adjust to professional hockey before he's pressed into action for the Canadiens.

Impact Evans has two goals and an assist over his last five games. The 29-year-old could be poised for more ice time in the near future as Alex Newhook (ankle) is out for four months and Kirby Dach (foot) is set to miss at least six weeks, depleting the Canadiens' options at center. Evans is at five points, 22 shots on net, 24 hits, 17 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a minus-11 rating over 18 appearances. He doesn't have a ton of offense in his game, but he's strong enough as a two-way forward to handle second-line minutes if necessary.

Impact Caufield has slowed down a bit with three goals and one assist over his last six outings. The 24-year-old winger is still in a top-line role, but the Canadiens' offense has fallen a little flat against tough defensive teams over the last week or so. For the season, Caufield has 13 goals, 19 points, 44 shots on net, 17 hits and a plus-8 rating through 18 appearances. He's shooting 29.5 percent, which likely won't last all year, but he should still be among the better goal-scorers in the league.
