Antti Raanta - In goal for Game 1
Raanta will get the starting nod in Monday's Game 1 home clash with the Islanders, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Impact
Raanta came up just one victory shy of a 20-win season, which would have been his first time heading that threshold since 2017-18 when he was with the Coyotes. The Canes have been rotating starts between Raanta and Frederik Andersen and it appears that trend will continue into the postseason. In his last four appearances, Raanta posted a 3-1-0 record, 1.74 GAA and one shutout. If coach Rod Brind'Amour continues the flip between backstops, look for Andersen to be between the pipes for Game 2 on Wednesday.

Pyotr Kochetkov - Recalled from minors
Kochetkov was elevated from AHL Chicago on Monday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Impact
Kochetkov figures to serve as the No. 3 emergency netminder for the Canes heading into the playoffs. The youngster did log 24 games for the club this season in which he went 12-7-5 with four shutouts and a .909 save percentage. Still, it would be quite the deviation for coach Rod Brind'Amour to start Kochetkov in the playoffs ahead of Antti Raanta or Frederik Andersen.

Martin Necas - Pair of helpers in Game 1 win
Necas picked up two assists in Monday's 2-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Necas assisted on both of Carolina's power-play goals, setting up Sebastian Aho's tally in the first period and Stefan Noesen's in the second. The 24-year-old Necas is coming off a breakout season with 28 goals and 71 points, both career highs. He'll be a key offensive piece for the Hurricanes as they look to make a deep playoff run.

Sebastian Aho - Scores in series opener
Aho scored a goal on his lone shot in Monday's 2-1 win over the Islanders in Game 1.
Impact
Aho opened the scoring with a power-play goal early in the first period, one-timing a Brent Burns feed from the circle. The 25-year-old Aho will be counted on to drive Carolina's offense as they look to make another deep postseason run. He finished the regular season with 36 goals and 31 assists in 75 games.

Brent Burns - Two assists in Game 1
Burns recorded a pair of power-play assists in Monday's 2-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Burns teed up Sebastian Aho for the opening goal early in the first period before grabbing a second assist in the second, when Stefan Noesen deflected his shot past Ilya Sorokin to extend Carolina's lead to 2-0. Burns was productive in his first year with the Hurricanes, tallying 18 goals, 43 points and a plus-19 rating while playing all 82 games.

Antti Raanta - Earns win in Game 1
Raanta stopped 24 of 25 shots in Monday's 2-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Raanta was sharp in Carolina's series-opening victory, allowing just a second-period goal to Ryan Pulock. The 33-year-old Raanta finished the regular season with wins in three of his last four starts, sporting a .925 save percentage in that span. He figures to split starting duties with Frederik Andersen during the postseason.

Frederik Andersen - Gets plenty of support in win
Andersen turned aside 30 shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Panthers.
Impact
The four goal were the most he'd allowed since March 18, but Andersen still rolled to his 21st win of the season thanks to big-time goal support. The veteran netminder heads into the playoffs with a 2.48 GAA and .903 save percentage, and while Antti Raanta posted better ratios during the regular season, Andersen seems the more likely choice of coach Rod Brind'Amour to start Game 1 of the Hurricanes' first-round series against the Islanders.
