Teuvo Teravainen - Sustains upper-body injury Teravainen suffered an upper-body injury during Wednesday's game and will miss the rest of the contest.
Impact Teravainen had a plus-2 rating and two shots in 14:41 of ice time before he exited the game. He finished the regular season with 12 goals and 37 points in 68 outings. If he's not available for Game 3 on Friday, then Jesse Puljujarvi might draw into the lineup.

Teuvo Teravainen - Heading for surgery Teravainen suffered a broken hand in Wednesday's Game 2 versus the Islanders and will undergo surgery Thursday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Impact It's unclear how long Teravainen's recovery timeline will be, but it's safe to assume he's out for at least the rest of the first round. Jesse Puljujarvi will likely enter the lineup while Teravainen is out.

Stefan Noesen - Scores goal vs. Islanders Noesen netted a goal in Carolina's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Impact Noesen's marker came on the power play and put Carolina up 2-0 midway through the second period. He's picked the perfect time to get hot, supplying three goals over his last four contests, including two markers in two playoff outings. During the regular season, Noesen contributed 13 goals and 36 points in 78 appearances.

Paul Stastny - Provides opening goal Stastny found the back of the net in Carolina's 4-3 overtime victory over the Islanders in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Impact Stastny isn't the offensive force that he once was. While he surpassed the 70-point milestone in three of his first four campaigns, the 37-year-old finished the 2022-23 regular season with nine goals and 22 points in 73 contests. He can still chip in from time to time though, as Stastny did early in the first period to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 edge. It was his 27th goal and 70th point in 105 career NHL playoff games.

Brent Burns - Stays hot Wednesday Burns registered two assists in Carolina's 4-3 overtime victory over the Islanders in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Impact Burns picked up a pair of helpers for the second straight playoff contest and has contributed four goals and eight points over his last five outings. The red-hot defenseman was a major offensive force for Carolina throughout the regular season, supplying 18 goals and 61 points in 82 appearances. Even at the age of 38, Burns is well suited to his role on Carolina's top pairing and first power-play unit.

Jesper Fast - Supplies overtime winner Fast collected a goal in a 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Impact Fast found the back of the net in overtime to record his ninth goal and first game-winner over 67 career playoff outings. Although he wasn't a major offensive force in the regular season, providing 10 goals and 29 points in 80 contests, Fast has been held off the scoresheet only once over his last four appearances. The 31-year-old's contributed two goals and three points in that four-game stretch.

Jaccob Slavin - Chips in two points in Game 2 Slavin had a goal and an assist in Carolina's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Impact Slavin was quiet over his previous nine outings, contributing just two assists in that span. Over 76 regular-season contests, he had seven goals and 27 points, which was down from 42 points in 2021-22. Slavin played a key role Wednesday though, helping out on Paul Stastny's marker early in the first period, and then finding the back of the net himself midway through the third to tie the game at 3-3.

Impact Raanta also saved 25 of 26 shots in the series opener, so he's improved to 2-0 in the 2023 playoffs. He did run into some problems during the second period of Wednesday's contest, allowing two goals on eight shots, but Carolina provided him with enough support to pull through. Raanta was solid during the regular season, posting a 19-3-3 record, 2.23 GAA and .910 save percentage in 27 appearances.

Impact Andersen had a 21-11-1 record, 2.48 GAA and .903 save percentage in 34 contests with Carolina during the regular season. Antti Raanta will start in Game 2 on Wednesday after saving 20 of 21 shots in Carolina's 2-1 victory over the Islanders in Monday's series opener.
