Frederik Andersen - Starting against Germany Andersen will start for Denmark during Thursday's game against Germany at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Impact Andersen is in the midst of one of the worst seasons of his career in the NHL, as he's gone 7-10-5 with a 3.26 GAA and .871 save percentage over 22 appearances with the Hurricanes. He made three appearances for Denmark to help the team qualify for the Olympics, and he went 3-0-0 with a 1.31 GAA and .938 save percentage in those outings.

Ivan Ryabkin - Two of each Wednesday Ryabkin scored twice and added two assists in QMJHL Charlottetown's 6-3 win over Shawinigan on Wednesday.
Impact Ryabkin has earned four multi-point efforts over eight contests since joining Charlottetown in mid-January. This was his first multi-goal game, and he's up to five tallies and 10 assists so far far. The Hurricanes prospect is likely to be a steady scorer for the remainder of the QMJHL campaign.

Impact Unger Sorum had gone 22 games without a goal prior to Friday. He had started to pick up the pace as a playmaker with 14 helpers over his last 10 outings. Overall, he's at 10 goals, 39 points, 57 shots on net and a plus-6 rating through 42 appearances for the Wolves in his second AHL campaign.

Jordan Staal - Stays hot with empty-netter Staal scored an empty-net goal on three shots in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rangers.
Impact Staal has scored in three straight games and has six points, including five goals, over his last seven outings. The 37-year-old has thrived with more prominent chances on offense this season, including a spot on the second power-play unit at times. He's up to 15 goals, 26 points, 76 shots on net, 110 hits, 28 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-4 rating across 54 appearances.

Andrei Svechnikov - Fires home winner Thursday Svechnikov scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 2-0 victory over the Rangers.
Impact The 25-year-old winger pounced on a clearing attempt at the New York blue line, zipped into the slot and wired the puck past Jonathan Quick to open the scoring early in the first period. That proved to be all the offense Brandon Bussi would need on the night. Svechnikov would probably prefer not to take a three-week break for the Olympics given his current form, as over the last 10 games he's erupted for nine goals and 14 points.

Impact The rookie netminder wasn't busy as he cruised to his second shutout of the season, and he didn't face much of a challenge from a toothless New York offense that had just seen Artemi Panarin depart for Los Angeles. Bussi will carry a seven-start win streak into the Olympic break, a stretch in which he's delivered a dazzling 1.72 GAA and .921 save percentage.
