Avoids concussion
Johnson (head) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Johnson must've been cleared after exiting Sunday's loss to New England in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. He'll likely continue in his timeshare with Michael Carter this Sunday against the Bengals, while Tevin Coleman (hamstring) appears in danger of missing another game after a DNP on Wednesday.

Suffers possible concussion
Johnson exited Sunday's game against the Patriots to be evaluated for a concussion.
Impact
Johnson rushed five times for six yards and caught three of four targets for 40 yards before leaving the contest. Michael Carter should handle the bulk of the backfield work while he's being evaluated, while La'Mical Perine operates in a secondary role.

Seven touches, finds end zone
Johnson recorded four rushes for 12 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. He added two receptions for 22 yards.
Impact
Johnson split carries as the Jets' second back with Tevin Coleman and behind Michael Carter. His day was hardly noteworthy as a rusher, with his biggest contribution being a one-yard touchdown plunge early in the third quarter. On the other hand, he was more effective as a receiver by logging two 11-yard catches out of the backfield. The Jets continue to shift their work in the backfield to Carter and Johnson and away from Coleman, a trend that is likely to continue after the team's bye in Week 7 against New England.

Just five touches in Week 4
Johnson rushed three times for one yard and caught both of his targets for another 12 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Titans.
Impact
Johnson's five touches trailed both Michael Carter (14) and Tevin Coleman (six) in the Jets' backfield. New York's offense came alive with a season-high 27 points in the team's first win of the season, but Johnson's limited role suggests he'll remain a fantasy afterthought barring a shakeup in the Jets' backfield pecking order. Johnson also saw usage as a kick returner, totaling 57 yards on three returns.

Sees limited work
Johnson rushed the ball three times for 17 yards in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Broncos. He also recorded one reception on five targets for six yards.
Impact
Michael Carter took over the backfield in the absence of Tevin Coleman (illness), though the team tried to heavily utilize Johnson as a pass catcher. Even with the limited workload, Johnson managed one of few highlights for the team when gained 13 yards on a carry just before halftime. If Coleman remains sidelined for the Jets' Week 4 matchup against Tennessee, Johnson could remain heavily involved in a pass-catching role.

Hits 50-yard mark
Johnson rushed 12 times for 50 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 25-6 loss to New England.
Impact
Johnson worked in a timeshare with Michael Carter, who turned 11 carries and three targets into 88 scrimmage yards. Tevin Coleman got just five carries, so the Jets appear set to rely primarily on the tandem of Johnson and Carter in the backfield moving forward. Johnson has produced 76 scrimmage yards through two games and will face the Broncos on the road in Week 3.

Limited involvement in Week 1
Johnson rushed four times for 15 yards and caught one of three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Panthers.
Impact
Johnson whiffed on a pass-blocking assignment early and also caused a delay of game penalty by taking the field late with the punt team, which is unlikely to earn him any favors in the three-man rotation with Tevin Coleman and Michael Carter. On the other hand, Johnson was also the primary running back when the Jets' offense finally started to find success in the second half, even though Johnson himself didn't play a major role in that success. All three Jets running backs got between five and nine touches and will likely continue to rotate in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Roster lock after strong camp
Rich Cimini of ESPN.com believes Johnson will open the season as one of the Jets' top two running backs alongside Tevin Coleman.
Impact
Johnson has solidified a prominent role in the Jets' backfield with a strong camp. New York's expected to use a committee approach including Johnson and Coleman, as well as fourth-round picks from the past two drafts in Michael Carter and La'Mical Perine. Coleman's probably first in line for touches, but Johnson has shown effectiveness as both a rusher and a pass-catcher, making him an option in virtually all situations.

Sees big workload Friday
Johnson carried the ball 13 times for 53 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 18 yards in Friday's preseason tie against the Eagles.
Impact
With Tevin Coleman held out of the preseason finale and La'Mical Perine (foot) banged up, Johnson and rookie Michael Carter split snaps in the backfield with the first-team offense. It was Johnson who saw the bigger workload and made the bigger impact though, and he found the end zone on a three-yard run for the final play of the third quarter. The 23-year-old seems likely to begin the season in the No. 2 spot on the depth chart, but all four backs could wind up featuring prominently in what looks like a true backfield committee.
