Six touches in wild-card loss Pollard carried the ball four times for 14 yards and caught both his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the 49ers in the wild-card round.

Impact The running back didn't see much action on offense, and Pollard's biggest contribution came on kickoffs, as he gained 50 yards on two returns. The third-year Memphis product put together his best season yet in the NFL, racking up 1,056 scrimmage yards and two rushing touchdowns over 15 games while working behind Ezekiel Elliott in the Dallas backfield. Pollard's 5.5 yards per carry put Elliott's 4.2 mark to shame, but with the starter still carrying a dead cap hit of over $30 million on his contract in 2022, Pollard's role doesn't seem likely to increase next year unless Zeke suffers a significant injury.

Fully practices Wednesday Pollard (foot) was a full practice participant Wednesday, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Impact Pollard was held out of the Cowboys' Week 18 win at Philadelphia due to the torn fascia in his left foot that he's been playing through since Week 13. While he missed Week 14 as a result, he played in the ensuing three contests, turning 31 touches into 195 yards from scrimmage and no touchdowns. During that same three-game stretch, Ezekiel Elliott notched 39 touches for 144 total yards and three total scores. With Dallas' top two running backs all good on the health front, the backfield is ready to go ahead of Sunday's wild-card matchup with the 49ers.

On pace to practice Wednesday Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that he thinks Pollard (foot) will practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Impact The Cowboys left Pollard behind in Dallas for a Week 18 visit to Philadelphia, a decision that McCarthy described as the team "just being smart with him." With the Eagles sitting key members on both sides of the ball this past Saturday, the Dallas offense had no problem putting up yards and points on its way to a 51-26 victory. No. 1 running back Ezekiel Elliott did just enough to squeak out 1,000 rushing yards (1.002, to be exact) for the fourth time in six campaigns, but a rested and healthy Pollard would get the team's backfield back to 100 percent. Pollard's activity level at Wednesday's session will be telling for that to come to pass ahead of Sunday's wild-card matchup with the 49ers.

This isn't necessarily indicative of a setback, with the Cowboys perhaps just being cautious given that there isn't a ton on the line this weekend but will be shortly thereafter. Pollard's absence leaves Corey Clement to handle backfield snaps behind Ezekiel Elliott, who won't necessarily take on his usual workload (the Cowboys haven't commented on expectations there).
