Limited in return to practice
Pollard (foot) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Impact
Pollard was unable to mix into drills to begin Week 15 prep, but he ended up taking part in individual drills during the open portion of Thursday's session, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com. The result was a limited listing, which followed coach Mike McCarthy telling Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News that the torn plantar fascia in Pollard's left foot is "getting better." Pollard is aiming to miss just one game as a result of the injury, but he still seems poised to enter the weekend with a designation for Sunday's road contest against the Giants.

Spotted at practice Thursday
Pollard (foot) was present for Thursday's practice, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Pollard went through some individual drills during the media-access portion of the session, which is a step in the right direction for the running back as Sunday's game against the Giants approaches. Thursday's injury report will add clarity with regard to Pollard's official level of participation.

DNP after all Wednesday
Pollard (foot) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Impact
Prior to the session, coach Mike McCarthy told Helman that he expected Pollard to be limited. According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Pollard managed his typical resistance work on the side, but in the end it didn't translate to any practice reps. McCarthy also relayed that the Cowboys are "feeling a lot better" about Pollard's odds to suit up this Sunday against the Giants than they were before he eventually was ruled for their Week 14 game at Washington, per Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News. Pollard is attempting to miss just one contest as a result of a torn plantar fascia in his left foot.

Limited practice on tap
Head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that he expects Pollard (foot) to practice in a limited capacity, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Impact
During the open portion of Wednesday's practice, Pollard was spotted doing some resistance training off to the side, per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, but McCarthy's comments suggest that the running back may take part in some position drills behind the scenes. Before being inactive for last week's win over Washington, Pollard didn't practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday while dealing with a plantar fascia tear of his left foot, so he already looks to have taken a step forward to begin Week 15 prep. According to Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News, McCarthy said Monday that Pollard is "feeling a lot better" about the 24-year-old's chances of playing Week 15, but an official decision on Pollard's status likely won't arrive until after Friday's practice.

Not suiting up Sunday
Pollard (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against Washington, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Pollard, who was viewed as a game-time decision after failing to practice in any capacity Wednesday through Friday, will be sidelined for the first time in 2021. The second-year back revealed that he tore the plantar fascia in his left foot during the Cowboys' Week 13 win over the Saints, but the team is hopeful that by holding Pollard out of Sunday's contest, he'll be healthy enough to return to the lineup as soon as Week 15 against the Giants. With Pollard out of the mix for Week 14, the Cowboys could rely more heavily on lead back Ezekiel Elliott, whose workload the team has deliberately been managing due to a knee issue that dates back to Week 4. If the Cowboys want to maintain the status quo and keep Elliott's reps in check, depth options Corey Clement and JaQuan Hardy could have roles in the game plan. Dallas could also rely more heavily on the Dak Prescott-led passing attack rather than the ground game sans Pollard.

On track to sit Sunday
Pollard (foot), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, isn't expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Official confirmation of Pollard's status will arrive when Dallas releases its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. With Pollard not expected to suit up, starter Ezekiel Elliott could take on a larger portion of the backfield duties after previously operating as the lead option in a timeshare arrangement with Pollard in recent weeks. Corey Clement is a candidate to mix in for reps behind Elliott, though Clement is unlikely to see as larger of a role as Pollard had previously held.

Game-day call for Week 14
Pollard (foot), who is listed a questionable for Sunday's contest against Washington, is viewed as a game-time call, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Rapoport notes that Pollard, who didn't practice this past week after tearing the plantar fascia of his left foot in Dallas' Week 13 win over the Saints, has a chance to play, but added "there isn't a lot of optimism for it." A final decision on the running back's Week 14 status will thus arrive approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Cowboys release their inactive list.

Questionable for Sunday
Pollard (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
Pollard missed practice Wednesday through Friday, after tearing the plantar fascia of his left foot in last Thursday's win over the Saints. Both Pollard and coach Mike McCarthy have suggested the running back will be a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, with Corey Clement likely in line to handle the No. 2 RB role if Pollard is inactive. The Cowboys may also consider other options, including reducing Pollard's workload on special teams (he returns kicks) but not offense. It'll be tough to know for sure beforehand, making him a risky Week 14 start even if he's active, while teammate Ezekiel Elliott (knee) gets a modest boost.
